It was informed that this was because applications submitted through the Ukraine Family Scheme were given precedence.

The Ukraine Family Scheme was started in response to the humanitarian situation brought on by the invasion of Ukraine, according to a statement published on the United Kingdom Embassy in Nigeria's official Twitter page on Tuesday.

"As a result, UKVI has temporarily stopped providing super-priority and priority services for new study, employment, and family applications. Customers using common applications for work, study, and Family routes' application processing may take a little longer than usual.

We are still unable to provide PV for tourist applications in Nigeria at this time. At this time, the processing time for common tourist visa requests is six weeks.

When the applicant's passport is prepared for pickup, the Visa Application Center (VAC) will call them. They should wait until they have received an invitation before going to the VAC.

"UKVI may think about expediting particular cases if there are highly compassionate or compelling reasons (for instance, a medical emergency). The standard for this is high, though, and each situation will be looked at individually.

"Applicants can get assistance from UK Visas and Immigration if a request is really urgent. To be clear, this is a service fee for international clients. We regret any difficulty this may have caused.
