Wizkid and Davido have been added as main stage headliners at Afro Nation Portugal 2023. Afro Nation Portugal 2023 (www.AfroNation.com) has announced the inclusion of main stage headliners Wizkid and Davido and new talents such as Little Simz, Popcaan, and Focalistic, who will join the world's largest Afrobeats and Amapaino lineup this summer.

Afro Nation returns to the gorgeous Portimao beach on June 28-30, with a star-studded lineup that includes Burna Boy, 50 Cent, Booba, Aya Nakamura, Fireboy DML, Asake, Arya Starr, Black Sherif, Oxlade, Dadju, and Ms. Banks, to mention a few. Now the Star Boy himself has returned to the celebration. Wizkid, the Grammy Award-winning, and multi-platinum-selling worldwide sensation heads to Afro Nation Portugal to perform countless hits for the adoring crowds, including 'Essence,' 'Mighty Wine,' and 'Blessed.

Wizkid, along with fellow Afro Nation Portugal 2023 headliner Burna Boy, recently became the first African musician to headline UK stadium events in 2023. Wizkid's 'More Love, Less Ego' tour is pushing the musician to new heights just two years after his record-breaking sell-out London O2 Arena gigs on the 'Made In Lagos' tour - which The Evening Standard called "a victory for African music's more globalized reach".

Meanwhile, Davido has established himself as one of the most dynamic and original performers on the Nigerian music industry, with addictive hooks and equally captivating onstage enthusiasm. Expect another crowning moment with the audience singing along to every word when he returns to the stage this summer, as the feel-good party king dishes up all his hits like ‘Fall’, ‘If’, and ‘Skelewu’.

BRIT Award-winning lyricist Little Simz also heads out to the Algarve, to excite the crowd with singles from her breakthrough new albums 'Sometimes I Might Be Introvert' and 'NO THANK YOU', along with her legendary anthems like 'Venom', '101FM' and 'Boss'. Simz, who is always bold and thought-provoking, has been earning accolades in recent years, and her Afro Nation debut is another moment to savor. The renowned dancehall musician Popcaan will also be pulling up to Portugal this summer to spice things up with his most sizzling anthems including 'Only Guy She Want', 'Party Shot', and 'When You Wine Like That'.

That is not all. Following his London headline gig earlier this month, another of Amapiano's best Focalistic has been revealed as a key performer on this year's Piano People stage. Kamo Mphela, Felo Ła Tee, Sir Trill and Skyla Tylaa will also be appearing alongside countless South African stars, such as previously announced headliners Scorpion Kings, Major League DJz and Uncle Waffles, and so many DJs and artists behind the world’s most exciting sounds right now. Powerhouse Musa Keys, popular singer Young Stunna, celebrated queen of genre DBN Gogo, trailblazer Vigro Deep, “future ghetto punk” superstar Moonchild Sanelly and many more will all be bringing the heat and stirring up the sand with all the latest moves this June

Day Splits for Afro Nation Portugal 2023 have also been confirmed today, with Burna Boy, Aya Nakamura and Popcaan starting the event on 28th June, Wizkid, Little Simz and Asake playing on the 29th June and 50 Cent, Davido, Booba and Fireboy DML giving the concluding pyrotechnics on 30th June.

"We are thrilled to welcome Wizkid, Davido, Little Simz, Popcaan, Focalistic, and others to Afro Nation Portugal 2023," said the event's organisers. "These musicians and cultural icons represent the finest of African music and culture, and we can't wait to see them play on our stunning beach stage. With so many fantastic bands on the bill, this is building up to be the most unmissable party of the summer, as well as our best festival yet."

Following Afro Nation Ghana's historic return to West Africa during "Detty December" and a milestone performance in Puerto Rico in April 2022, the very first Afro Nation on mainland North America arrives this year. Burna Boy, Wizkid, Rema, Asake, Beenie Man, and others will perform in the Sunshine State of Florida on May 27th and 28th for African Nation Miami 2023.

After its debut in Portugal in 2019, Afro Nation has become a must-attend event. The festival's fast expansion, which currently includes activities in culturally significant locations on three continents, demonstrates the power of uniting the diaspora and showcasing the best of African music and culture. With this powerful lineup on the way, and the stunning Portuguese sun that you can always rely on, Afro Nation Portugal is set to draw in crowds from the UK, right across Europe, Africa, and beyond, for another unifying and joyful celebration of Black music, dancing, food and good vibes.
